Memorial Hospital opened in 1971 as Tampa Care, an extended care facility with a 44-bed psychiatric unit and was converted into a 140-bed general acute care hospital in 1972.

Providing a wide range of acute medical and surgical care to residents in South Tampa and surrounding communities, today Memorial has 180 licensed beds, including 26 psychiatric beds, over 500 employees and is affiliated with more than 400 of Tampa's finest physicians. The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Memorial Hospital has a brand new Emergency Department so we can provide even better healthcare services for our community. Our new Emergency Department has doubled in size to accommodate more patients. Highlights include:
