WHAT’S NEW AT MEMORIAL?
Memorial Hospital of Tampa is pleased to bring the latest advances in ocular technology to the South Tampa area. Surgically implanted multifocal intraocular lenses, (IOLs) are now available. Originally, IOLs were monofocal, or corrective of vision at one distance only, whether near, intermediate or far. Since they corrected vision at just one distance, glasses were still needed, especially if the patient suffered from age-related farsightedness. The newer, multifocal intraocular lenses correct vision at multiple ranges, and could minimize dependence on glasses, including reading glasses and bifocals.
Make the most out of your cataract surgery by asking your doctor if multifocal IOLs are right for you. For more information on multifocal lenses call (813) 873-6400 ext. 5509. |
